It was in 2005 when I started my career with an IT company as BDM, my first and last job. That time, this company was working on a Govt. of Maharashtra project for creating a software which would help them collect, maintain and manage demographic data all across Maharashtra for Election Identity Cards.
After lots of hard work when the software was ready, it was to be showcased to Tehsildars /collectors at Mantralaya, Mumbai premises.
This presentation was mandated to be done in Marathi, unfortunately, a day before, the person who was supposed to present got sick and was not in condition at all to make this presentation. The team had only 2 Marathi speaking members, one who got sick and the other was a data entry operator.
The onus was on data entry guy now. He had never done any presentations in his life; he was terrified first, but then there was no choice. Somehow he gathered his courage and after lots of practice, he could make that presentation successfully. The job was done and feedback was superb.
The moment he finished his presentation, he had transformed into a new person, that day he had realized his potential. He eventually got promotion and is doing great as a confident individual.
